Ricotta French Toast with Vanilla Maple Syrup

Ricotta French Toast Todays Moxie

I love to make french toast on weekends. The maple syrup is heated with a little butter and a splash of vanilla and warmed then poured over fresh ricoatta french toast. The start of a great day!

All week long I have been working on this loaf of french bread and now I am down to just 2 slices and two little end pieces. 

Cook Time/Servings

Prep Time: A few minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 rounded tsp ricotta
  • splash of vanilla
  • 1 squeeze of lime
  • 3 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Directions

  1. Get out your skillet and heat it to medium
  2. Crack one egg into a bowl and add 1 tsp of maple syrup, a splash of vanilla, a squeeze of lime and the ricotta cheese. Wisk to combine.
  3. Soak the bread in the egg mixture.
  4. Add the coconut oil to your pan and once it is melted, add the bread to your pan and toast on both sides.
  5. For the maple syrup, combine 2 tsps maple syrup, 1 tsp of butter and a splash of vanilla and microwave for 20 seconds.
  6. Place your toast on a plate, pour the syrup over and enjoy.
